Cindy is based in McKinsey’s London office and coleads the Geopolitics Practice, helping leading institutions navigate and reorient to the new realities of the shifting geopolitical landscape. She has three decades of experience serving financial services, corporate, and private capital clients. She previously led our global Risk & Resilience Practice and our UK Financial Services Practices.
Since joining McKinsey in 1992, she has gained extensive experience in helping financial institutions address their most complex business challenges with a particular focus on strategy, corporate finance, enterprise risk management, and culture. Cindy led the firm’s acquisitions of Vivid Economics and Risk Dynamics. Between 2021 and 2024, she was an elected member of McKinsey’s board (Shareholders Council).

- advising banks, asset managers, and clearing houses across the United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland, the Middle East, and Singapore, with 30+ years of experience in financial services consulting, including supporting a major UK bank on its full portfolio and product strategy by determining several acquisitions, disposals, and collaborative priorities
- implementing growth strategies for clients in financial markets, retail and commercial banking, trade and cash management, embedded finance, asset management, and digital revenue growth
- serving PE funds, infrastructure investors, and climate fund clients for 25 years
- delivering multiple commercial strategy engagements for banks across trading, investment banking, corporate, and commercial banking
- providing multiple due diligence, portfolio-company strategies, and exit preparations for multiple private equity and infrastructure investing groups across sectors, including leisure, solar energy, care homes, motorway service stations, retail, agriculture, and construction
- leading multiple strategy efforts for a major global asset manager, including group strategy, financial management information systems and metrics, technology strategy, and organization
- leading enterprise risk transformations for multiple global banks focusing on risk appetite, governance, new emerging risks, risk culture, model management, and validation
- initiating critical global climate finance initiatives and leading McKinsey’s involvement, including: the Task Force for Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets, global working groups for methane abatement and coal retirement financing, the COP28 Presidential Action Agenda, the Climate Transition Impact Framework
Cindy is a frequent speaker at international conferences on geopolitics, financial services, and climate finance, including for the World Economic Forum, COP 26-29, and the Financial Times. She regularly contributes to McKinsey’s publications, and her insights on risk management have been featured in The Economist and other publications. Before joining McKinsey, Cindy was a corporate finance analyst at Goldman Sachs, where she worked on a range of M&A, debt, and equity-financing transactions.
