Andre currently leads McKinsey’s office complex in Florida, and has worked in McKinsey’s offices in Miami, New York, Sydney and Amsterdam (with client work in over 30 countries). He is the founder of McKinsey’s Higher Education Practice, McKinsey Academy, and McKinsey’s State and Local Government Practice.
With his partners in Miami, he is focused on materially changing the trajectory of the Florida economy, already the world’s 15th largest economy. He has worked with CEOs of many Florida companies on performance transformations, including in: healthcare; private capital; infrastructure; engineering, construction and building; financial services, and travel and leisure. He has experience designing and delivering transformation programs in these industries that drive superior improvement across the full set of business and operational levers, including revenue, cost, capital efficiency, and customer experience.
As part of his client work in higher education, Andre has served ~60 universities and their leaders on topics including: university and school-level strategy (including a focus on science and engineering, life sciences and AI); research priorities; teaching, learning and instructional design; commercialization and intellectual property; tech enablement of administrative operations; capital productivity; student experience; academic medical center performance improvement; university and board governance; and innovation ecosystem development.
He was also a member of the McKinsey Global Institute Council (world’s #1 private sector think tank), advising and conducting research on human potential, including labor markets, education, future of work, and workforce development.
He is deeply involved in civic endeavors. He is the Co-Chair of the Partnership for Miami, a civic group dedicating to creating a Miami that works for everyone. He previously served on the boards of the College Advising Corp (Vice Chair), Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, and the United Way of New York City (Vice Chair). He convened and chaired the Taskforce on Higher Education and Opportunity. In 2003, the World Economic Forum selected him as one of 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow.
Prior to joining McKinsey, André was a research fellow at Yale Law School. He studied at Yale Law School and the University of Sydney. He is a fan of Liverpool Football Club, a citizen of the United States and Australia, and an avid space balloon enthusiast.
